We are hiring!

Are you the organised friend that manages to pull everything together? Do you have an interest in live music-related events?

Skin Deep are looking for an organised and creative Assistant Producer to assist our Producer with the delivery of our Sonic Transmissions Series.

Skin Deep is a creative powerhouse that is redefining culture, amplifying voices of colour through discussions of race, politics and activism. Our online platform, biannual print publication and live events tell the stories others don’t. We collaborate with creatives, musicians, writers, artists and activists to produce and platform original and thought-provoking content which is fresh and accessible.

Skin Deep’s flagship event ‘Sonic Transmissions’ is a series of immersive, exploratory live public listening sessions. Skin Deep: Sonic Transmissions Series will be a series of Sonic Transmissions events across 3 weeks at 3 prestigious arts venues in London, with a focus on women musicians of colour such as Mercury Prize-nominated composer Cassie Kinoshi and all-female dance collective House of Absolute.

Previous Sonic Transmissions events have featured the likes of Ahnansé, Nérija, Brother Portrait, Shabaka Hutchings and Moses Boyd.

For Skin Deep’s inaugural Sonic Transmissions Series, we are looking for an Assistant Producer to assist in the lead-up and delivery of each event. We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of assisting on producing live music-related events / festivals
  • Has an interest in live music with a focus on UK jazz, R&B and neo-soul
  • Is organised, creative and efficient, as well as being able to lead on individual tasks
  • Is a real team-player and people person

Sounds like you? Great!

To apply, please send a CV and short cover letter telling us why you would be great for the role to tobi@skindeepmag.com with ‘Assistant Producer’ as the subject heading. Your cover letter can be in the form of a Word document, video or voice recording, and the more specific you can be about music-related events you have worked on – the better!

Please note, we will be prioritising applications from people of colour for this role.

Deadline: Friday 6th September 2019.

The role is part-time and paid on the basis of £1,050 for an equivalent of 7 day’s work.
