South East London duo Sawa-Manga craft an ethereal electronic-driven fusion of hip hop, r&b, soul and jazz.
‘Rolling Hills’, their first musical release, “was written staring at a hill dreaming. We wanted to wrap that feeling in music that had you swimming through a pulsing emotional landscape in suspense.”
The video for Rolling Hills, directed by Nadira Amrani, is a sensual portrait of Sawa-Manga’s close friends and family. The body is framed as a reflection of nature to be playfully discovered, in a realm between visions and waking day – between the world outside and a private longing. Sawa-Manga are in the process of completing their first body of work.
You can catch Sawa-Manga live at Somerset House on the 6th July. They will also be having a very special immersive live performance to preview their debut album at the Albany Theatre in Deptford on the 4th of October.
And you can listen to their second single Play on their Soundcloud here. It is a playful, haunting swirl of sonic attitude. So many xxxtra special treats.
